THE VICTORIAN

Georgetown, DC Showroom

“A room that curates, collects, and charms.
Blush-toned walls wrap the space in softness,

while checkered stone grounds it in tradition with a twist.
A custom piece of furniture brings in a vintage soul.
Light fixtures double as sculpture, casting shadow in artful rhythm.
This is The Victorian : expressive, elegant, and adorned.”

This bathroom shifts into a softer, more feminine register. The atmosphere is clear and composed, built around a restrained palette of muted pinks and layered materials. Referred to as The Victorian, the room takes its name from the sensibility it embodies, drawing from classical references in a restrained way rather than a literal or ornamental one.

At the center of the space, a custom vanity immediately draws attention. Subtle molding applied to the front panels reinterprets traditional door detailing with restraint, while fine, delicate legs lift the piece off the floor—a gesture that reads as furniture rather than cabinetry, giving the bathroom a domestic intimacy. Open shelving below keeps the composition light, anchored by a Calacatta Viola marble countertop and backsplash, whose violet-grey veining adds depth without disrupting

A soft, subdued pink envelops the walls, setting the tone without feeling imposed or overly precious. It is the kind of color that evolves with the light, from barely-there blush to something warmer and more present as the day moves. This subtle shift is echoed and amplified by the lighting: wall-mounted and ceiling fixtures by Luminaire Authentik cast a warm, diffused glow through pearl glass with undertones of pink and mauve. Light and the palette blend so naturally that it becomes difficult to say where one ends and the other begins.

What defines the space is not any single gesture, but the accumulation of details; the fine proportions of the vanity, the tactility of the marble, the warmth of the light. An expressive wall treatment adds a final layer, introducing a more intuitive, almost graphic quality that ties the room together, giving the Victorian its character without overdoing it.The result is a space that feels clean, atmospheric, and feminine not as an aesthetic, but as a quality of presence.
