Hello, it’s a great day to start a project.
Farmhouse Kitchens
In a family home, the early morning hours have their own rhythm. A light step in the hallway. A chair gently pulled out. A small voice calling. The kitchen often awakens before the rest of the house.
At the heart of the living space, the kitchen opens onto the dining room, and then, further on, onto the river. The fine materials echo and extend the landscape beyond. The wood captures the morning light, and the sound of the water outside is barely audible, just enough to suggest its quiet presence.
It becomes clear that the kitchen is not confined to the room it occupies. It is part of its surroundings, interwoven with the light, the rhythm of the morning, and the subtle connection with nature that accompanies it.
Around the cooking area, the cabinets form a continuous line. The doors, finished in a soft beige lacquer, blend harmoniously into the overall design. This restraint allows the stone backsplash and natural light to take center stage.
Above the cooking area, the range hood is concealed within an architectural housing. It is more suggested than displayed. Beneath this structure, discreet lighting is integrated into the design. A soft glow gently reveals the delicate nuances of the stone countertop.
The backsplash extends the entire length of the countertop. Its luminous surface, enameled with fine veins, lends subtle depth to the overall design. It seems to serve as a soothing backdrop, quietly framing the objects placed before it.
Adjacent to the backsplash, the wall cabinets continue the composition. Some have solid doors, while others allow light to filter through fluted glass.
This texture introduces a rhythm to the overall design. It interrupts the smooth surface of the fronts without disrupting it. There’s something familiar about this glass, almost an echo of kitchens of yesteryear, but presented here with restraint. The porcelain emerges in the background, softened and diffused by the material.
As dawn breaks, the striations gradually appear, tracing delicate vertical lines. These lines lend the whole a calming elegant atmosphere.
Low cabinets extend along the same wall of the dining room, seamlessly integrating additional storage space.
At the heart of the room, a white oak island makes a gentle statement. The wood is crafted with a vertical grain, in a custom shade that complements the parquet flooring and woodwork.
The island stands like a large table around which the family can gather. In front of the seating, discreet doors keep storage within easy reach.
Wooden legs lend a grounded presence. Their traditional shape evokes a heritage, as if they had always been an integral part of the kitchen.
Two light fixtures hang above the island. Their design evokes lampshades of yesteryear. The opal glass, pleated like fabric, diffuses a soft and soothing light.
The slender brass stem holds everything together, maintaining a discreet presence. Positioned at just the right height, the light fixtures support and enhance everyday activities.
