Full Job Description
Your first step into custom kitchen design
Finishing your interior design studies and looking for a place to learn the trade from the inside? At Ateliers Jacob, every project starts with a meeting. Before discovering their new kitchen, a client walks through the door of our showroom or calls us for the first time. You’ll be the one welcoming them, understanding their needs and guiding them to the right designer.
A custom cabinet manufacturer for nearly 40 years, we are a team of 200 passionate people across 2 plants, 2 showrooms and 9 sister companies. We are looking for a warm, organized person with a design background to welcome our clients, qualify new projects and support our design, sales and accounting teams. It’s an ideal entry point to learn our products, our processes and our client approach alongside experienced designers.
Your growth with us
- From day one, you’ll learn our products, materials, finishes and the specifics of each of our brands.
- You’ll work with our designers every day and see how a project unfolds, from the first meeting to delivery.
- This position is a solid foundation for building your expertise. With one to two years of experience with us, and depending on your development, you could move into a kitchen designer role.
Why join our team
- A stable daytime schedule, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- A very dynamic, entrepreneurial work environment
- A first job in the field, with long-term career growth
- Group insurance, a group RRSP and a DPSP
- A telemedicine platform
- 4 weeks of company closure per year
- An active social life and several company events
Your day-to-day role
Request qualification and follow-up (the heart of the role)
- Receive new project requests and qualify them using our script: needs, budget, branch, timeline.
- Enter each request in Monday and follow up with clients.
- Assign projects to designers according to our rotation rules and send the welcome email.
- Direct each request to the right brand within the group, including our regional partners.
Customer service and after-sales
- Answer calls and emails, in French and English, and route each request promptly.
- Gather information on after-sales service requests, locate files, determine what is or isn’t covered under warranty, and coordinate follow-up with the team.
- Inform clients about lead times and calmly handle clients who are in a hurry or dissatisfied.
- Process payments and make pre-delivery reminder calls.
Showroom reception
- Welcome clients and introduce them to our projects, materials and finishes.
- Open and close the showroom and keep it spotless.
Administration and logistics
- Print installation plans for the plants.
- Prepare contract denunciations (notices of contract) for accounting.
- Manage mail and shipments (Purolator, Planète Courrier).
- Order samples, office supplies and showroom items.
- Coordinate AgilIP requests (workstations, arrivals and departures).
- File delivery photos in client folders.
Improving our tools
- Develop our email templates, assignment boards and Monday configuration.
What makes you the right person
- You have a DEP, DEC or AEC in interior design or a related field, or you’re finishing your studies.
- Is this your first job in the field? Perfect, we’ll support you. An internship or customer service experience is an asset.
- You have an eye for design and want to learn the trade of kitchen designer.
- You are bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
- You ask the right questions to understand a need and you like seeing a file through to the end.
- You juggle multiple priorities and interruptions without losing track.
- You have a warm manner, on the phone and in person.
- You know how to keep information confidential.
- You find solutions on your own when something unexpected comes up.
- You’re comfortable with computer tools and enjoy improving them (Monday is a major asset).
